Tips for Tuesday - Books: The Perks of Being Wallflower and Don't Go

Me - Today I am recommending The Perks of Being a Wallflower. This is a really good book. I liked the plot. It was about a boy who started high school and made friends with a group of high school seniors. I could really relate to his struggle to participate and fit in. I think any tween or teen would be able to relate to it. Although the book ended happy, it was kind of sad too. All in all, it was a good book.

Mom -  Today I am recommending Don't Go by Lisa Scottoline. Don't Go is about a soldier stationed in Afghanistan whose wife dies under mysterious circumstances while he is deployed in Afganistan leaving him the only parent to a baby daughter who hardly knows him. When he finds out his wife may have been cheating him, he is determined to find out the truth, a quest which leads to danger and trouble not only for himself but for those he cares about. At the same time, he is trying to build a relationship with his daughter who is closer to his sister-in-law and her husband than she is to him. This is a different kind of story for Lisa Scottoline both because it is told from the point of view of a man and because it partially takes place in Afganistan. It is not only a page turner of a mystery but also a sometimes heartbreaking sometimes sweet story of a man and his daughter. I really enjoyed it, and I would recommend it.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
