I Wish My Life Were Like a Musical is a delightful ode to musical theater. This fun new musical revue skewers everything to do with the genre. Opening numbers, overblown choreography, and weird singing affectations are just a few of the topics raised in this endearing show. Even audience members aren't free from scrutiny, as songs address super fans, distracting audience habits, and more.
The score is a treasure. If there were a cast album, it would be one to listen to without skipping a song. Every single one is that good. They are all equally hilarious and relatable.
The performances are exuberant and gleeful. Every cast member is a standout performer; there is not one to single out above the others. They are all clearly having a blast performing in this show, milking every moment for everything it's worth.
The entire show is just permeated with joy for both the cast and the audience. It's a musical theater lovefest!
