Funny Friday - Calling Grandma

Me -

When I was just over a year, I could hit the right buttons on the phone to call my Grandmother. To this day, we are phone buddies.

Mom -

When Melia was a baby, she learned how to use the telephone, but of course, she could not read and could not use the directory. She could only call the first stored number on the phone. Luckily at first that was my Mom's number because her name begins with A. However, my husband had a friend named Al. When he put Al's number into the phone, Melia kept calling him instead of my Mother. We finally had to put Al under his last name and Melia went back to calling my Mom all the time.

Please Touch Museum

Me -Please Touch Museum, wow! The Please Touch Museum was cool. I loved all the exhibits equally except for one which was my favorite. I loved the Alice in Wonderland exhibit. We got to paint the roses. We got to dress up like Alice or the Queen of Hearts or the White Queen. I dressed up like the Queen of Hearts. My sister dressed up like Alice. We could pretend to have tea with the Mad Hatter and the March Hare. There was even a room which got smaller as you went further into it so it looked like you were getting taller. They had exhibits of old toys all over the museum. They even had one exhibit of thousands of rubber ducks. My sister and I loved that because we collect rubber ducks. They had a pretend hospital, a pretend shop-rite, a pretend shoe store, a pretend gas station. They had a train, a bus, a monorail, and a trolley. You could sit in them and press buttons and pretend to drive, but you didn't really go anywhere. They had a giant wheel like a hamster wheel that you could walk on and turn the wheel. It was a very good workout. I don't see how hamsters can do that all day. Then, even had a carousel, but that still worked, and you could actually take a ride on it. All in all, it was a lot of fun, and I hope to go there again sometime.

Mom - One of those places we had always talked about going but had never made it to was the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. This summer we finally made it there. It was a lot of fun. There are so many things for kids to do there. They can pretend to run a Rita's ices stand, pretend to go shopping in the supermarket, pretend to work in a supermarket, pretend to work in a shoe store, pretend to be a doctor, or so many other things. You could literally spend hours and hours there without your kids getting bored. They also have items on display like old toys. For a parent it is fun seeing things from your childhood, your child's childhood and even things from before either one of you was born. There are two sculptures made out of recycled materials. One of them is made to look like The Statute of Liberty. There are instruments to play. There is a beautifully restored carousel to ride. The best thing about the museum is that it's nice to go some place with your kids where instead of telling them not to touch this and not to touch that you call tell them please do touch. It was such a fun place it made me want to be a kid again.

And that is our view. What is your favorite museum for kids?

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Please Touch Museum

What - Please Touch Museum

Where: Memorial Hall in Fairmont Park
             4231 Avenue of the Republic
              Philadelphia, PA

Who: Everyone especially young children

Our view: The Please Touch Museum is a child's dream. They are not only allowed to touch and play with all the exhibits, they are encouraged to do so. Exhibits include a giant gerbil wheel, a doctor's office, a shoe store, and a section where children can explore the musical sounds of the Rainforest. There are so many exhibits surely every child can find something that interests them. There are exhibits for every age level and ability. There is also a theater where interactive, entertaining and educational shows for children are performed everyday except Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is an art room where children can express their creativity. There are interactive music and dance performances. There is story time in the Story Castle located within the Kids Store. There are character appearances. There is even an old fashioned carousel to ride. If anything, there may be too much too do, and the museum may be a bit overwhelming for very young children. I would recommend going early because there is so much to do, you will definitely need a whole day. Also, please note that while the museum used to be located in the area where many other Philadelphia Museums, such as the Franklin Institute, are located, it is no longer there, and if you look up the address on the internet, sometimes the wrong address comes up. The above address is the correct one.

The Museum is open Monday through Saturday 9-5 and Sundays 11-5.  Adults and Children over 1 are $16.00. Children under 1 are free. Sometimes, you can find discount tickets through one of the group shopping sites, such as, Living Social, which may even include tickets for the carousel ride. Memberships are available for $150.00 per year for a family of up to 4 people. Memberships include discounts in the store, in the cafe, and on birthday parties, as well as discounted admission for member guests. They also includes free admission for 4 to over 200 museums all over the U.S through a recipriocal musem program.

Tune in tomorrow for more about the Please Touch Musem  or go to http://www.pleasetouchmuseum.org/.

Arts and crafts

Me - I like arts and crafts.I like to draw. I have a lot of coloring books. I have some arts and crafts supplies in my room, but most of my arts and crafts supplies are in our basement. My mother doesn't really like us to do art in our room unless it is just coloring or putting stickers paper. It is too messy. I have lots and lots of stickers. My sister is jealous because I have so many.  I love decorating with stickers. My Mom gets mad when my sister or I put stickers on the furniture or walls. In school, we made lots of art projects, but now that I am older we probably will not make so many. I will miss making a lot of art projects. We saved a lot of my art projects. Sometimes, I like to play with the ones that are animals and people. I have to be careful that I don't break them when I play with them. My sister used to make really cute animals out of toliet paper tubes and give some to me. Now, she sews some really cute animals and gives some to me. I love art especially making animals out of art! It is fun to make things.*

*The above is guest post by little sister, Aurella as dictated to Mom.

Mom - At various times,  my girls have really been into art. Melia was into hook rug for a while and into Bendaroos for a while and various other thing. She even went through a period where she liked to make these little animals out of toliet paper tubes. Aurella likes to color and she loves to cut things out. When I was young, I went through a period where I was really into arts and crafts too. I was always saving things like egg cartons, paper towel tubes, cereal boxes and  other stuff to make art projects out of. However, I was more into the idea of creating art projects than I was into actually creating them. I ended up throwing out most  of the stuff  I saved and not really using it. I also liked to color when I was young. I had all these coloring books. I remember I had some Barbie coloring books. I had a Partridge Family coloring book. I had a Tom Sawyer coloring book. In most of my coloring books, I was always saving my favorite pages for last, I never got around to coloring any of those favorite pages before I grew out of  the desire to color in coloring books though. I went through a phase where I like to draw. However, I was never really that good at it, and I knew people who were much better at drawing then me so eventually I gave that up. I am much better with words than with pictures. That is why I blog.

And that's our view. What is your favorite arts and craft project?

Funny Friday - Preparing for Baby Emergencies

Me -

When I was about four months old and started sleeping through the night, every night I would have a test run of the emergency baby system. My Mom and Dad would put me to bed in my crib. I would immediately start crying. My Mom or Dad would come in. I would grab his or her finger hold it tightly for a minute or two and immediately go back to sleep.

Mom -

When Melia was a baby, her favorite toy was Boo from Monsters, Inc. There was original Boo and back-up Boo. Back-up Boo lived at Grandma's house because one night when we were sleeping at Grandma's house Melia woke up in the night crying hysterically not for Mommy or Daddy but for Boo.

The Safari at Great Adventure

Me- The Safari at Great Adventure, wow! We went to the Safari at Six Flags Great Adventure for my sister's birthday. I took a lot of pictures. Baboons butts are creepy. They are really fat and pink. Scary! My Dad had always wanted to see a live moose, and there was one that came straight toward us. There also was one in the water. I had never really seen a Zebra so close up. They were right next to our car, and they were so pretty. I wished I could touch one. There was a giraffe that was going and sniffing everybody's car, and it was stopping the traffic. It skipped our car though. I had never seen a giraffe so close before. They are even taller than I thought. There was a really pretty white tiger. It was pacing back and forth. It was all by itself, but there were other tigers in another cage. There were also some orange tigers and two or three lions. There was a lot of cute baby animals. There were baby buffalo. There was a baby zebra. There was a baby bison. There was one baby brown bear. He was the only brown bear. I had a great time at the safari, and I want to go back as soon as they reopen after they finish renovating it for next year.

Mom - We used to go to baseball games for my younger daughter, Aurella's birthday. However, now we go to zoos. Last year, we went to the Popcorn Park Zoo. This year, we went to the Safai at Six Flags Great Adventure. I had been to the safari before but not in many years. The last time I was there neither of my daughters was born, and my stepson was 5 or 6. He is almost 19. It was our last time seeing the Safari as it was where you could drive through in your own car as well as Aurella's first visit there. It was a lot of fun seeing bears walk past your car and giraffes leaning over it among other things. I miss the days when the monkeys used to run free and climb up on people's cars and pull things off them and stuff. Now, they are behind fences. The Safari has been the same since the park opened in the 70s. Next year, it will be completely different. Some of the changes are good. There will be places you will actually be able to pet animals. My girls will especially love that. Also, the cost will be included as part of the cost of the amusement park. Right now, they charge you not by carload but by the number of people in the car which I think is a bit excessive. However, I will miss being able to go through the Safari in our own car at our own pace. It will be like another piece of my childhood is gone.

And that's our view. What animal that you have never seen would you most like to see at a zoo or safari?

Tips for Tuesdays - Movies: 16 Wishes & Dirty Dancing

Me - Today I am recommending 16 Wishes, a Disney Channel movie. It is a really good movie. It shows that you shouldn't be in a hurry to grow-up. It also teaches that you should be thankful for what you have. I really liked the ending.

Mom - Today I am recommending the movie Dirty Dancing, one of my favorite movies of all time. Despite the title, Dirty Dancing is a movie that is good for women and girls from preteen to adult. While there is a sex scene in the movie, it is a very mild one, and they don't really show anything. It shows that you don't have to have revealing sex scenes and people tearing their clothes off all the time to have a good romantic movie. One of the best things about the movie is Patrick Swayze. I don't know how anyone could see the movie and not fall in love with him. I actually met Kelly Bishop who played  the Mom in the movie once. She said in real life Patrick Swayze was just as nice as he seemed. That only made me love him, and the movie even more.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.

Collector Dolls

Me - Collector dolls, wow! I have a lot of collector Barbies. I have Maria from The Sound of Music. I have the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. I have a Yankee Barbie. I also have some more current rare Barbies like Lola from Hannah Montana. I have a lot of High School Barbies. I have Sharpay from the first and third movie. I have Ryan from the first and third movie. I have Gabriella from the first and third movies. I have Chad, Zeke and Kelsi and Taylor from the third movie. I have Troy from the third movie. I have Hannah Montana, Miley Stewart, Lily and Oliver dolls. I also have a Hannah Montana that changes from Hannah to Miley and back, but only the hair. It doesn't work very well though. I have Alex from The Wizards of Waverly Place. I have Giselle and Robert from Enchanted. I also have Danny, DJ, Stephanie, Michelle, Jesse, Rebecca, and the twins from Full House. They are not exactly Barbies. They are a little bit smaller. I also have another Uncle Jesse from Full House that is a Barbie. I used to have even more collector dolls but some of them got broken. None of my collector dolls is in mint condition. They are all out of the box and have been played with.

Mom -  I have a collection of dolls from all over the world. I have had it since I was little and been adding to it over the years although not recently. I love it, but if I had it to do all over again I would also have collection of collector Barbies. There have been so many great collector Barbies over the years. There have been movie ones like Sandy from Grease, Eliza from My Fair Lady, and Scarlet from Gone with the Wind as well as more current movie ones like dolls from The Hunger Games and Twilight. There have been famous actor and actress ones like Elizabeth Taylor . There have been TV show Barbies like Star Trek Barbies and X-File Barbies. There have been rock star Barbies like Deborah Harry and Elvis Presley. There have been famous people Barbies like Princess Diana, Will and Kate, and Princess Grace. There have been famous sports teams Barbie like baseball team Barbies and football team Barbies as well as just general sports Barbies like swimmer Barbie, gymnastics Barbie or skater Barbie. There have been Barbies from around the world. There have been specialized Barbies like Coca Cola Barbie, Little Debbie Barbie, Elmo Barbie and Sponge Bob Barbie. There have been Barbies for all different occupations like teacher Barbies, movie star Barbies, and astronaut Barbies. There have even been designer Barbies like Badgley Mischka Barbie and Christian Louboutin Barbie. Melia has had a bunch of collector Barbies over the years some of which she still has. They have included Maria from The Sound of Music, The Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz and New York Yankee Barbie. Melia's collector Barbies have all been played with. I would like to have collector Barbies that are not for playing with just to save.

And that's our view. Who would you like to see a Barbie of?

Funny Friday - Garbage Can Tales

Me -

When I was little my Mom sent me up to her room to put something in the garbage. A few minutes later I came back with the garbage can.

Mom -

When Aurella was little, she was mad at Melia so she said she was going to throw Melia in the garbage. She got the garbage brought it over to Melia and started trying to push her in.

Hershey's Chocolate World

Me- Hershey's Chocolate World, wow! This summer, I went to Hershey's Chocolate World. First we, went on a trolley ride. The lady who was our guide had the same name as my sister. Her assistant was named Wilbur. It was completely an act and Wilbur was supposed to be stupid. At one point the tour guide said, "Now is the time for people to take out their cameras." Wilbur said he had to go home and get his camera. He got out of the trolley. Really, he only went to the back of the trolley. He kept dressing up in different costumes to tell the story of Milton Hershey. He dressed up as Milton Hershey's father, as Milton Hershey's mother, a 10 year old boy working on the farm, and as chef, and as a soldier and more. My favorite was the chef. He was so funny. When he was the chef., he said he spoke Swedish, but he just kept babbling nonsense and making up random noises. Next, we went to a 3D movie. This guy was supposed to give a lecture. Then, this cartoon man came out and took over. At the end, he finally tried a Hershey Bar and did a finale. The movie was actually 4D, but it was also 3D. Every single second was 3D. If you took your glasses off, everything would just be blurry. At some points, you got sprayed with water for the 4D. Next, we did the Chocolate tasting adventure. There where four or five different kinds of chocolate. The instructor told us about them. Then, we had to look, listen to the crack of breaking off a piece, smell and taste each one. Next, we created our own candy. There were machines. You put in if you wanted white chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate. You chose from different options what you want inside the chocolate bar. Also, you could have sprinkles or not. On another machine, you could design your own wrapper. We went to the store. My Mom, Dad and sister got matching shirts. I got a toy Hershey's kiss. I had a great time at Hershey's Chocolate World, and I hope to go back some day.

Mom - This past summer, we went to Hershey's Chocolate World. The last time I went to Hershey, there was only the Chocolate Tour ride that tells you how the chocolate is made. When I was even younger than that, there were actually tours through the Hershey Factory itself, but  you couldn't really go on the factory floor or anything, you could just peek through the windows. Now, there is Hershey's Chocolate  World, and there is so much more to it than just a the Chocolate Tour ride. There is  a Trolley ride. While on the ride, you learn about the history of Milton Hershey and Hershey chocolate. Also, you get to sample, Hershey's kisses, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, and little Hershey Bars. There is a 3D movie after which you get to sample more chocolate. There is a Chocolate Tasting where there you get to sample a lot of different kinds of chocolate. There is a Create Your Own Candy Bar where you get to create and sample your own chocolate bar. There is even still the Hershey's Chocolate Tour ride after which you get to sample still more chocolate. So, if you love chocolate Hershey's Chocolate World is the place for you if you are on a diet or you don't like chocolate, maybe not so much.

And that's our view. Do you like chocolate and if so what is your favorite kind?

Tune in tomorrow for Funny Friday.

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Hershey's Chocolate World

What: Hershey's Chocolate World

Where: 251 Park Boulevard
            Hershey, PA

Who: Everyone

Our view: If you are not on a diet, and you love chocolate, this is the place for you. Hershey has come a long way from the days when it was just an amusement park and a factory tour. Now, you cannot go into the actual chocolate factory itself at all, but there is so much more to do. There is a trolley ride. Young kids might be bored by the story of Milton Hershey that is told on the trolley. However, they should enjoy the costumes changes and funny antics of the actor playing Milton Hershey's mother and father and all the various other parts. Also, they will enjoy the candy samples that are given out on the ride. There is a 4D movie, there is not much plot to it and it is kind of stupid, but the kids will love it. There is a chocolate tasting. For adults and older children, it is interesting to learn about the different chocolates. For younger children, maybe not so much, but they will enjoy eating it. There is a chocolate tour ride reminscent of the original factory tour. While young children might be bored by learning about how the chocolate is made, they will enjoy the animatronics especially the singing cows and they will enjoy the ride itself. For adults, and older children the whole thing is enjoyable. There is a a place to make your own candy. While, very young children will probably need help with this, it is enjoyable for all and for many, the most enjoyable part of all. When you go be prepared to spend at least half a day to get the whole thing in. Do not expect to be able to do Hershey's Chocolate World and Hershey Park in the same day even though they are right next door to each other. Everything lasts at least a half hour to 45 minutes except the chocolate tour ride. Also, go at least a little bit hungry because you will be given chocolate samples everywhere you go. Also, if you are a chocoholic like me be prepared, aside from the samples, there is a large gift store and you will be bombarded by all kinds of chocolate and other candy for sale. They don't call it the sweetest place int the world for nothing.

For more about Hershey's Chocolate World see tomorrow's Talking Topic or go to http://www.hersheys.com/chocolateworld/default.aspx.

Tips for Tuesday - Books: The No-Nothings & the Perfect Chemistry Series

Me - For beginning readers,  I recommend The No-Nothings by . T Michele Sobel Spirn. The No-Nothings is a series of books about four not very smart friends named Doris, Boris, Morris and Norris. For example in one book they thought they had to go to France get french fries. If your child is learning to read the No-Nothing books are perfect because they are so funny they make kids want to read. All the kids in my family loved them at one time or another.

Mom - Today I am recommending Simone Ekeles Perfect Chemistry series consisting of Perfect Chemistry, Rules of Attraction, and Chain Reaction. I got the first one from a blog contest, I entered because I liked the book cover and title. However, I ended up loving it. It was one of the most touching and romantic books I have ever  read. I couldn't wait to read the other two books. The other books were equally as good. They were all about starcrossed lovers from different sides of town. They were about the  kind of relationships where people start out hating each other and next thing they know they are in love. I really enjoyed how the main characters from each book appeared as minor characters in subsequent books.  The book are considered YA, but I really enjoyed them too and have now passed them on to Melia.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-to-Go Wednesday.

Math

Me - Math, not wow! I don't like math. I hate the person who created math. Math is so hard. If there had to be math, I wish I didn't have to learn it. I am not good at telling time. I don't understand money. In third grade, my teacher had to help me on a telling time test. I do like multiplication. I am good at my times tables up to 12. When I was younger, I used to practice math a lot to try to get better at it, but I don't any more. My Grandma, and my brother and sister are really good at math. I am much better at reading, and I like it much better. My Mom and Dad are better at reading too, but they don't hate math as much as me. No one hates math as much as me.

Mom - Math has never been my favorite subject. I was always much better at reading probably because I always liked to read. Not too long ago, I was in touch with my third grade teacher. She said when I was in third grade, I was really good at math. I don't remember that at all. By the time, I got to high school I wasn't. Melia is like me. She does not like math either. She thinks she is really bad at it. While she is definitely better at reading like I am, her teacher's have told me that she is not as bad at math as she thinks she is. I think she just lacks confidence in her math abilities because she likes reading better so it comes easier to her. She has to work at math more. Maybe, I was the same way. My husband also prefers reading to math. Aurella, however, is good at math. When she was about two or three she said to me "I had two and then I got three more so now I have five." She didn't even have to count it up or anything she just knew. When I went to help out in her classroom in kindergarten one day, they were doing something where they had to write numbers as high as they could could count, most of the kids wrote 10 or 20 or so. Aurella wrote up to 42, and she had only stopped there because she ran out of room on the paper. My stepson is also really good at math. When he comes he helps Melia with her math homework. My Mother is also very good at math. She was a math major in college. My Mother looks at things in a very serious way. She always expects things to be logical. Aurella can be that way too. For instance, she always takes song lyric very seriously and is always asking why a person would say or do this or that. Maybe, it is this way of looking at the world in a logical way that makes them so good at math.

And that's our view. Do you prefer math or reading?

Funny Friday - Money, Money Money

Me -

When I was little, my Grandma was counting money, I put out my hand and said "Money!" She gave me a penny. I lost it. I put out my hand and said "More money!"

Mom -

When my stepson was little, he said "I get my money the hard way! Bubby gives it to me!"

The End of Summer

Me -The end of summer, wow! I am not happy about the end of summer. This was the coolest summer ever. We have taken tons of day trips and a couple overnight trips. We went on lots of rides at Amusement Parks, Carnivals, the County Fair and the Boardwalk. We went to a couple zoos. We went to the Safari at Great Adventure. We went to baseball games. We went to a couple museums. We went to a Broadway show. We went to an Aquarium. We went to the beach. We went to a few parks. We went to a few parties, and we had a few barbeques. I slept over my best friend's  house a couple times, and she slept at my house a few times. I am not looking forward to school starting. My best friend is a year older than me and goes to a different school. She said that the grade I am going into is very hard and has a lot of work. I am not looking forward to getting up early. I like to sleep until around 1:00, and when we are not going any place fun I like to hang out in my pajamas all day. Of course, my parents don't let me sleep late every single day or have a pajama day every single day anyway. I wish the summer would never end like on Phineas and Ferb.

Mom - I can't believe another summer has come to an end. If there had been 9 more days (less than two weeks) more of summer vacation, there would have been three whole months. Even so, it still seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. We had a really terrific summer, our summer of fun as my girls dubbed it. We got to do a lot of things and go a lot of places many of which we had been talking about for years but never gotten around to. We worked on the blog a lot and we wrote a bunch of stories on Aurella's blog. Still there were so many things, I wanted to get to that I never did. There were so many things I wanted to get to around the house in particular that I could never get to because we were just so busy all the time. It is alway like that anyway. I always think I am going to do everything in the summer. I always think I am going to get completely caught up, but I never do. Usually, all of June and July, I am relaxed because I think I am getting things done, and I still have a whole other month of the summer to go after July. However, as soon as August hits, I go into panic mode thinking the summer is almost over, and I hardly got anything done. This year was different. This year I never thought I was getting that much done not even in June or July. It definitely was a fun summer though. Maybe, now that Aurella is entering first grade and both girls will be in school full-time for the first time, I will actually get things done during the school year. At least, I hope so.

And that's our view. How was your summer?

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Jenkinson's Aquarium

What : Jenkinson's Aquarium

Where: 300 Ocean Avenue
             Pt.Pleasant, NJ

Who: Everyone

Our view: Jenkinson's Aquarium is a nice little aquarium down the Jersey shore in Pt. Pleasant. It is especially good for younger kids who may not yet have the attention span for a larger aquarium. It is right by the beach so it is a nice cool place to go for an hour or two to get out of the sun on a hot beach day in Pt. Pleasant. It can be crowded because there are often school groups and/or camp groups there as one of the aquarium's main mission's is education. These groups are usually there from around 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday - Friday so you may want to avoid these times if you want to avoid crowds. Despite, it's beach location, the Aquarium is open all year round. Accordingly, another way to try to avoid the crowds is to go in the winter when there is more likely to be less people in the vicinity of the beach.  In the summer, the hours are from 10 to 10. In September and October the hours vary so check before you go. In the winter, the hours are from Monday through Friday 9:30 - 5:00 and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 -  5:00. The cost is reasonable too at $10.00 for adults and $6.00 for children 3-12 and seniors over 62. Children under three are free. One admission gets you in all day even if you go out and come back again. Birthday parties are available all year around starting at $250.00 but they are not available on weekends in the summer.

Note: Jenkinson's is known for their penguins. Earlier this summer. the penguins habitiat was being renovated and they were not on display so if you intend to go I would recommend confirming that the penguins are back on display first.

Tips for Tuesday - TV Shows: Sabrina the Teenage Witch & Unwrapped

Me - I am recommending Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Sabrina the Teenage Witch is a really good show about a girl who finds out she is a witch and goes to live with her aunts who are also witches. Her magic is always getting her into trouble. She solves her problems with the help of her talking cat, Salem. It is a good family show, and if you try it with your family, I am sure you will enjoy it. Even though they no longer make new episodes and they haven't in years, it is still a great show.

Mom - Today I am recommending  Unwrapped on the food network. Unwrapped tells you how classic foods are made. They have had episodes on everything from ice cream to carnival treats to foods that are orange to just about any category of food you can think of. Don't watch on an empty stomach, it will make you hungry. I always have to restrain myself from rushing to my computer to order many of the delicious looking foods they talk about on the show. The downside to Unwrapped besides that it makes you hungry is that they do not seem to produce new episodes that often so there are a lot of reruns.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-to-go Wednesday.

Pillows

Me - Pillows, wow!  I love pillows. I have two pillows. One time when my Mom and Dad got pillows, I insisted that I needed one too but I never used it. I like a firm pillow, but not too firm. I don't like them too squishy or too hard. I like my pillow pets better than my regular pillows. They are more fun to look at and more comfortable. However, I always use my regular pillow with my pillow pet otherwise it is too squishy. Right now,  I have three pillow pets. I have a lamb that I got from my cousin for my birthday once. I have a unicorn that my Dad got me from Five Below. I also have a panda that I got for a holiday gift. Every night I sleep with my unicorn pillow. I first had my lamb and then my unicorn and then my panda. I used to try to sleep with all of them at the same time. However, my bed wasn't big enough to use all three of them. I hope to get more pillow pets.

Mom - It so hard to find the perfect pillow. Some are too hard and others are too soft. When I try to sit up in bed and lean on pillows, I can never get comfortable. I can never get the right amount of pillows and the right degree of height. After a while, my head always ends up hurting because it is too hard. It is either too hard because the pillows are too hard or because the pillows are too soft, and I start feeling the wall behind them. My husband and I have a king size bed, but we keep three regular size pillows on it instead of two king sized ones. I sleep on one. He sleeps on one. Our cat sleeps on one. She has been sleeping on a pillow next to me since she was a baby even before my husband and I were married or even a couple. When she was a baby, she would never sleep on her pillow during the day only at night. Sometimes during the day, I would sit up using my pillow and her pillow, when she was ready to go to sleep, she would meow at me until I put her pillow back so she could lie down on it. Now, that she is older she sometimes lies on her pillow during the day too. When she wants to lie on her pillow, if somebody else is lying on it or things are in her way, she will meow or just stand there and stare at us until everything and everybody is moved out of the way of her getting to her pillow. Once, I didn't like the pillow I had so I tried to trade pillows with my cat. She knew it was not her pillow, and she would not sleep on it until put her pillow back. I hate new pillows. They always have to be broken in until they get comfortable. Once I got this new pillow, and I got my husband to sleep on it, when it got broken in and it got comfortable, I took it back. He never lets me forget about that, and I could never get him to do that again.

And that's our view. What kind of pillow do you prefer?

Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
