I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Since 1997 Musicals Tonight! has revived  90 musicals worthy of one last run in front of a New York audience such as – Chee-Chee; That’s the Ticket; For Goodness Sake; and Paris.  They were created by the same geniuses who wrote Pal Joey; Fanny; Porgy & Bess; and Anything Goes.  But many companies larger than ours present the better-known works.  None have undertaken our mission.  And for that effort we were awarded an OBIE.

UNITED SOLO FESTIVAL
PRESENTS
 A   J E W I S H   J O K E
 A DRAMA ABOUT COMEDY
WRITTEN BY MARNI FREEDMAN & PHIL JOHNSON
DIRECTED BY DAVID ELLENSTEIN
PERFORMED BY PHIL JOHNSON

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH @4PM
THE STUDIO THEATRE @ THEATRE ROW
410 WEST 42ND STREET, NYC

United Solo Festival will present writer/performer Phil Johnson in his latest solo work, A Jewish Joke - a drama about comedy as relevant today is it was during the McCarthy era - in a single performance on Saturday, September 17th at 4pm at The Studio Theatre @ Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street – just east of Broadway.) Tickets are $18 and may be obtained through Telecharge.com/(212) 279-6200.  For further information, please visit www.ajewishjoke.com.

In A Jewish Joke, a curmudgeonly Jewish comedy screenwriter from MGM comes up against the Communist blacklist in 1950's Hollywood. Funny and lovable, Bernie has made his way up the ladder by being a spineless Hollywood sellout. He now has to make the biggest decision of his life. The night before a big red carpet premiere that will make Bernie's career, he has been asked to name names and give up a friend. Armed with stories about the great era of Jewish humor, this poignant and funny solo comedy shows one small man facing the tough American events of the mid-20th century and looking into the depths of his own soul.  A Jewish Joke had its World Premiere in San Diego in May and its Chicago premiere at Victory Gardens Theatre this past July.
